I have no idea what most of them even do. Disclosure: I'm pals with some folks who work at Rockstar. I've asked Rockstar PR what's going on, why the collection isn't sold any more, and if they plan to do anything about all of the everything. He shared several screenshots of the remastered Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas running on the iOS settings. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements. Summary: Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Rockstar's legacy will look very different this way. Overwhelming dislike based on 889 Ratings. Rockstar pulled the original games from sale after announcing the Def Ed, so these will be the versions standing for posterity. I hope they make drastic changes and big fixes. Rockstar Games has yet to even announce that Grand Theft Auto 6 exists, but that hasn't stopped franchise fans from tearing apart the recently released GTA Trilogy in the search for clues. Rockstar themselves didn't make the Def Ed, with Grove Street Games (formerly War Drum Studios) rebuilding the three games in Unreal Engine instead. Their games are never flawless (the state of cheating in GTA Online remains absurd) but this is just a mess. For those that haven’t been following Rockstar’s latest announcement, the rumored remakes of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas turned out to be true. For a studio who obsess over details like tempartures tightening a horse's scrotum, all this is. The hype surrounding the imminent release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy The Definitive Edition is palpable. If this is a coincidence, it's terrible timing from a PR perspective.īut also, man, surely they'd still be embarrassed. Maybe it will return to sale once that's fixed. Perhaps the Launcher is so busted that it seemed only sensible to stop selling the game, not wanting people to buy something they couldn't actually play. The only update so far today says: "We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work on restoring services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles." As of today, we know that the GTA trilogy remaster comes out in just under three weeks on November 11, 2021, and will be 60 for all three games, with none of them sold separately. Services will return as soon as maintenance is completed," they tweeted yesterday. "Services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles are temporarily offline for maintenance. They do seem to be having trouble with the Rockstar Launcher, which is required to play the PC version. You might assume Rockstar have pulled it because it's such a mess, but they haven't explained what's up. The only place to buy the game on PC is the Rockstar Store, which does not currently even list a PC version.
